Helping colleagues develop their careers is important to us.

We’re proud to offer our colleagues the opportunity to gain an apprenticeship in a wide range of subject areas, both job specific (such as accountancy) through to leadership development (such as our Team Leader Academy)

With a wide range of opportunities available, we are also proud to be able to offer our colleagues the opportunity to gain an apprenticeship in a wide range of subject areas, both job specific (such as accountancy) through to leadership development (such as our Team Leader Academy). These opportunities will be advertised when available or can be discussed with your Line Manager at any time.

What is an apprenticeship?

Apprenticeships are paid jobs, that allow our colleagues the opportunity to learn new skills, achieve nationally recognised qualifications, all whilst learning a role and getting paid!

Apprentices will spend a minimum of 6 hours of their working week undertaking apprenticeship activity such as attending college, attending virtual classrooms, completing assignments and projects whilst putting into practice their newly acquired skills, knowledge and behaviour into their role.

Which apprenticeships do we offer colleagues?

Apprenticeships can be completed by colleagues of all ages across all areas of our Society. They can be studied at Levels 2-7 and are a great way to gain a qualification whilst developing knowledge, skills and behaviours at work.

Some of our programmes include:

  • Level 2 Funeral Team Member Academy – a great entry career path within our funeral teams.
  • Level 3 Team Leader Academy – learn how to be a successful team leader.
  • Level 5 Operational Manager Academy – a brilliant programme that allows our leaders to develop into senior leader roles
  • Level 6 Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship – this degree level qualification gives our learners a chance to gain a BA(hons) in Business Management.

What support will I get?

We appreciate that an apprenticeship requires dedicated commitment from our learners to successfully complete the programme. All our apprentices are fully supported at every step of the way by their line manager, buddy, mentor and our in-house Talent Team. We’re committed to your success.

How do I apply?

Throughout the year we will advertise apprenticeship opportunities on our careers website. If you can’t find anything right now, sign up for our job alerts and we’ll let you know when we advertise roles right for you.
