What will you be doing?

This role sits at the heart of our commercial decision-making, turning complex data into meaningful insights that help shape our Value Strategy and drive business performance. You'll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality promotional analysis, reporting, and analytical solutions that enable informed decision-making across our Trade Planning, Commercial, Pricing, Ecommerce, and Food teams.

You’ll oversee the day-to-day operation of the data analyst function, acting as a key point of contact for queries, escalations, and process guidance while ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and commercially relevant insight. Working closely with key stakeholders across the business, you'll use data to uncover opportunities, identify risks, and influence strategic decisions that improve value perception, trading performance, customer engagement, and commercial outcomes.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded analyst who enjoys combining technical expertise with strategic thinking. You'll lead the analysis of promotional performance, category trends, customer behaviour, and trading activity, translating data into compelling recommendations that help our teams make better decisions for colleagues, customers, and members. Through innovative reporting, forecasting, performance modelling, and continuous improvement initiatives, you'll help optimise promotional effectiveness, strengthen our value proposition, and support the achievement of our wider commercial objectives.

If you're passionate about using data to solve complex business challenges, influence senior stakeholders, and drive measurable results, this role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact.

How will I know if I am right for this role?

We’re looking for a commercially minded analyst with a passion for turning data into insights that drive better business decisions. With strong analytical skills and advanced Excel and Power BI capability, you'll be comfortable working with large datasets, identifying trends, and translating complex information into clear, actionable recommendations.

You'll bring experience from a retail or FMCG environment, with a solid understanding of promotional strategy, category management principles, and the balance between competitiveness and commercial performance. You work collaboratively across teams, build strong stakeholder relationships, and aren't afraid to challenge third-party providers to deliver the best outcomes for the business.

You'll also have a keen interest in customer behaviour, market trends, and emerging technologies, using data to uncover opportunities that improve value perception, promotional effectiveness, and commercial results.

It would be great if you also have:

  • Knowledge of AI applications in promotional planning and execution
  • Experience working with Category Management, Finance, and Supply Chain teams
  • Strong presentation and stakeholder influencing skills
  • Experience with SQL, Python or R is desirable for sourcing and modelling complex data
  • Experience using customer data and insight to shape commercial recommendations and promotional decisions

Everyone is welcome here. We’re happy to make reasonable adjustments so that all our candidates can show us how they’ll perform their role. There is a section in the application form where you can provide any additional information. Please use this section to include any reasonable adjustments you need, and we’ll do our best to support you through our recruitment process
