What will you be doing?

As an Embalmer you will carry out all embalming and mortuary duties ensuring the highest standards of service are maintained at all times and in liaison with management, will ensure the efficient running of the mortuary and embalming theatre.

You will assist the Operations Funeral Director in coordinating removals and supervising the Care Team, which includes maintaining good stock control, assisting in viewings of the person who has died, and provide advice and support to relatives and colleagues. You will have excellent planning and organisation skills to minimise the time spent travelling between funeral homes.
 
Please note as of 1st December 2023, new joiners to our Funeral Business will be subject to a standard DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. All offers will be conditional on us receiving a satisfactory disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service. 

How will I know if I am right for this role?

Building positive relationships within the community is essential along with a sympathetic approach and excellent planning and organising and communication and team skills.

A flexible approach to working hours is essential and will include night, weekend and bank holiday rotas. You will be required to travel to other funeral homes using a Society vehicle therefore, you must also hold a full driving licence. A British Institute of Embalming qualification (BIE) is advantageous but willing to consider training for a suitable candidate.
