We're looking for an experienced and motivated finance professional to join our Finance team in a varied and rewarding role. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key part in the production of management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, statutory audit support, and financial analysis for our Food Retail division.

This is an exciting time to build experience in our newly merged Society, bringing two finance functions together and assisting with reporting changes as well as exploring ways to improve our automation and analysis.

In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of management accounts for the Food Retail division, providing insightful commentary on key variances and trends, and supporting informed decision-making across the organisation.

You’ll be providing support to the Management Accountant with regards to Food and Fuel, as well as assisting in the production and analysis for Post Offices.

Working closely with colleagues across both Finance and the wider business, you'll coordinate monthly and weekly financial processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments, shared cost allocations and balance sheet reconciliations, helping to maintain robust financial controls and reporting standards.

This role offers significant exposure across the business and provides the opportunity to contribute to budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning activities. You'll also support ad hoc analysis and reporting requirements, helping to translate financial information into meaningful insights that drive performance and continuous improvement.

We're looking for a proactive and enthusiastic finance professional who combines strong technical ability with excellent interpersonal skills. You'll be AAT qualified or currently studying towards an ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, with a genuine desire to continue developing your career within a fast-paced finance environment.

Confident working with numbers and systems, you'll have excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, and be comfortable analysing data to provide clear, accurate and meaningful financial information.

You'll be a strong communicator with the ability to build positive working relationships across Finance and the wider business. You’ll enjoy collaborating with colleagues and be able to explain financial information in a clear and accessible way.
